Hip hop saved my soul.

vietnamese-rapper-suboiPeople often think that hip hop is just music; but to others — it is a movement, a lifestyle, and a culture. One of the premiere queens of hip hop in Southeast Asia – not to mention one of the few Asian woman rappers out there – Suboi raps about life in Vietnam, culture and much more. She was set to debut in the States back in 2014 but was unable to confirm her visa to come here. She finally was able to set the stage with fellow rapper – Awkwafina – and debut her actress skills in the film “Hollow.”

2016 was a creative lull for the rapper but she resurfaced with a dark beat called “Doi” and got international social media attention when President Barack Obama when she was asked to rap for the US President. Suboi not only creates new music waves in a very oppressed country but she challenges the female stereotype on the mic. It reiterates the term that hip hop has also been politically based and can talk about the everyday to the most controversial of issues. With that said, what’s up with the lame, mumbling, wannabe rappers that keep flooding the airwaves?

Project time.

So I’ve come to the conclusion that I miss writing mucho! I actually have no idea what to write about but maybe I do have a few projects on the works for the digital world to look out for.

1- Bad Anne comic strip: the bad comic strip is yes of me, yours truly, doing the stuff I actually do in real life and being called out for it. Why would I want to humiliate myself like that? I don’t but to be quite blunt, it’s too damn funny not to share. The series will be up every two weeks? [my parameters haven’t really been cemented in but you know give or take.] It will be only 4 panels, because I don’t think I can draw past that and YEAH, THAT’S ABOUT IT. LOL.

2- ANAN’s. My sister has been craving macaroons and not by any one specific person but the knowledge that you can make your own and then eat all of them is something that has moved her to make them. SO I SAID WHY NOT. Oh the name Anan’s actually came from kinders because they didn’t know how to spell my name LMFAOOO.

3- Boyfriend has been hard at work with his business frat and wanted to do a special clothing line for women. What is it exactly? A clothing line for business women. YES THAT IS RIGHT. CHIQUE PANTSUITS. Like Kerry Washington from Scandal? OMG someone tell me who dresses her because that woman is fly on every episode. The name of the line is called “Caught In” get it? Say it out loud and think of what clothing is made of.

There is one HUGE project that I’m currently trying to figure out what to do but that will take a lot of time to plan so I’ll just keep that under wraps for right now.

two cents. ^_^y

Blogging 101: Weekend One

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/f6/56/ed/f656edfe3c80152bd5b1f3fb577af0b7.jpg

It the excitement is running high and you want to build on the momentum you’ve developed this week, here are a few things to try over the weekend:

-Spend more time in the Reader. Add a few more topics to follow, or check out our Recommended Blogs.
-Download the WordPress app. There are apps for iOS and Android — use them to catch up with blogs you love while you’re waiting for the bus, post photos on the fly, or check in on your stats from anywhere.
-Write another post. We’ll be publishing more posts throughout Blogging 101, but that doesn’t mean you can’t also publish on topics that’ve been on your mind — take the weekend to create something totally independently of Blogging 101.
-Share some love in The Commons. If you haven’t visited yet, we encourage you to pop in; it’s a great space full of supportive bloggers waiting to give you feedback, pats on the back, and pageviews. If you’ve already posted there, take some time to leave feedback and kudos on someone else’s post.

First weekend out blogging wasn’t a very strong start however, I did learn that online shopping is the super evil of evils. It starts when boredom sets in and when significant people are busy with their own lives. You do start to set a rhythm though about what to do like watching your TV shows you secretly watch, and cleaning out your makeup bags [if you’re a girl], and FINALLY organizing all the bills that you had previously made a pretty stack about.

But as they said, the first week is over and a brand new start is about to start again. Let’s blog hard this upcoming week.
